Block earns perfect score for second consecutive year

SACRAMENTO - The Congress of California Seniors (CCS) recently listed Assemblyman Marty Block (AD-78) with a 100 percent voting record on their 2012 California Legislative Report Card. In 2011, Block also earned a perfect rating.
“I’m proud to stand with California seniors to fight for the important pocketbook and quality of life legislation that makes a difference to them,” Block said.

The senior advocacy group tracked 19 bills for their 2012 report card. Bill subjects ranged from reporting of elder abuse to simplifying long-term care insurance to ensuring adequate consumer information about Medi-Cal and Medicare to providing low-interest home loans under the Mobilehome Park Resident Occupancy Program.

CCS, founded in 1977, is a nonprofit community-based coalition of senior advocacy organizations representing more than 650,000 Californians. A partial list of affiliated organizations includes the California Legislative Council of Older Americans, Older Women’s League, Jewish Labor Committee and the National Association for Hispanic Elderly.
