If you own a business and are interested in receiving tax credits to help you grow your company and hire more workers, I would like to invite you to an important workshop happening in San Diego this week.

On Friday, December 8th, from 9 to 10 a.m., officials from the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development and I will be hosting a workshop on how to apply for the California Competes Tax Credit program. The event takes place in City Council Chambers at San Diego City Hall, 12th Floor, at 202 C St.

Since it was launched in 2013, the California Competes Tax Credit program has enabled more than 860 companies to make $15.7 billion in capital investments, create more than 83,000 jobs, and receive $622.8 million in tax credits.

In San Diego County, the program has allowed nearly 150 companies to make $2.2 billion in capital investments, create more than 15,000 jobs, and receive more than $108 million in tax credits. One-quarter of the tax credits are reserved for small businesses.
