STATEMENT - Senate Leader Atkins Reacts to Trump Administration's Decision on Title X

SACRAMENTO – California Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) issued the following statement in response to today’s announcement that the Trump Administration will bar groups that provide abortion referrals from receiving Title X family planning funding.
“Women need access to unfettered information about their reproductive health options. The Administration’s decision to bar family planning clinics from referring patients to abortion services creates an unnecessary barrier on their ability to make decisions that are best suited for them and their families. I support any effort that challenges this wrongheaded approach.”
