Senate Leader Atkins Reacts to U.S. Supreme Court Ruling on Public Charge Rule

SACRAMENTO – California Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) issued the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court allowing the Administration to implement the ‘public charge’ rule:

“In light of the U.S. Supreme Court’s approval of the federal administration’s racist and callous attack on legal immigrants to our country, the California State Senate will continue to work with our Assembly colleagues, Governor Newsom, Attorney General Becerra, and community advocates to protect Californians and ensure everyone knows their rights and options.”
