SACRAMENTO— Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) and Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) issued the following statement on the 2020-2021 state budget:

“We entered this process with Legislative budget priorities that are faithful to the pragmatic fiscal structure put forth by Governor Newsom in his May Revision. We shared the goal of closing the $54 billion budget gap and providing strong footing as California enters challenging economic times. 

SACRAMENTO— Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego), Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood), and Budget Committee Chairs, Senator Holly J. Mitchell (D-Los Angeles) and Assemblymember Phil Ting (D- San Francisco) announced today an agreement has been reached between the Senate and the Assembly on the proposed 2020-2021 state budget.

SACRAMENTO – The Senate Environmental Quality Committee today approved SB 995 by Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego), legislation that will help ease California’s affordable housing crisis by extending California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) streamlining for large-scale projects and expanding the streamlining process to make more small projects eligible.

SACRAMENTO – In an effort to spur affordable housing production and aid California’s economic recovery due to the COVID-19 crisis, Senate Democrats unveiled a package of legislation today intended to bolster production of new housing and remove existing barriers by further streamlining the development process.
