SACRAMENTO – Today, the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Water passed SB 1027, legislation by Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) that would expand the jurisdiction of the San Diego River Conservancy (SDRC) to include the entire San Diego River watershed. The bill passed with a bipartisan 8-0 vote.

Atkins (D-San Diego) and Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee Chair Nancy Skinner (D-Berkeley) released the following statement about a Legislative agreement that has been reached regarding environmental review of California’s public higher education campuses’ long-term development plans, which also would ensure access to a new generation of students at UC Berkeley for the 2022-23 academic year.
