Senate Leader Atkins Issues Statement on Governor-Elect Gavin Newsom Appointments

SACRAMENTO – California Senate President pro Tempore Toni Atkins (D-San Diego) issued the following statement applauding the appointment of Ann O’Leary as Chief of Staff and Ana Matosantos as Cabinet Secretary.

“I want to commend Governor-elect Newsom for the signal he is sending with his first two major hires for his incoming Administration. Ann O’Leary and Ana Matosantos are both highly qualified and brilliant public servants who have spent their careers working to build a brighter future for everyone, including our most vulnerable. The fact that they both happen to be extraordinary women is worth applauding as well.”
