Senate Leader Atkins Appointed by Governor Newsom to Task Force on Business and Jobs Recovery
SACRAMENTO – Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) issued the following statement on her appointment by Governor Gavin Newsom to the Task Force on Business and Jobs Recovery:
“I am honored to be among those serving on Governor Newsom’s Task Force on Business and Jobs Recovery. As the task force focuses on efforts to establish an equitable economic recovery for Californians, I will work on ensuring that our focus on jobs includes middle class jobs. We entered this crisis with income inequality and a struggling middle class – our goal should be to emerge from this challenge with a stronger, larger and more robust middle class. California has an opportunity to show the nation not only how to rise from this tragedy, but how to lift as we climb.”
