Senior Advisory Council

The Senior Advisory Council has been organized to help seniors in the 39th Senate District gain an effective voice in state government and grow as leaders in their communities.

The Senior Advisory Council will:
• Provide a forum where seniors can express their perspectives, and develop concrete proposals, on issues that affect them.
• Provide opportunities for seniors to learn more about their state government and how it relates to their communities and to other levels of government.
• Organize public events on topics of particular interest to seniors, where the concerns and accomplishments of seniors will be highlighted.
• The senior advisory council will be an equal opportunity advocate to promote and strengthen the quality of life of senior citizens.

The Senior Advisory Council is only authorized to operate under the direction of Senator
Dr. Akilah Weber Pierson. The council can only advocate and address various issues and legislation pending approval from the Senator. Members understand that they are volunteering to serve on an unofficial advisory council to Senator Weber Pierson and have no official status or responsibilities with regard to the office of Senator Weber Pierson, the California State Senate, or the State of California.
