California Democratic State Senator, Dr. Akilah Weber Pierson of San Diego, is introducing several new bills aimed at improving the health of Californians, including Senate Bill 977, which would ensure that restaurants with 20 or more locations with a children's menu offer a children's meal that meets the minimum nutrition standard.
Introduced by state Sen. Akilah Weber Pierson, D-La Mesa (San Diego County), SB1067 would require schools to screen kindergarten through second-grade students for math difficulties to identify challenges early and respond sooner.
